This incident took place between 11:00am and 1:30 pm March 11 2008 on the Cornwall Road in Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia, Canada. The company that owns the crane is Lawrence S Veinotte Ent Ltd. The TM 800 Grove crane is lifting a house onto a new foundation (photo 1 above). The front of the crane has been chained to a bulldozer (photos 2, 3, 4). Anyone in the industry knows what's wrong here. The NS Occupational Health and Safety officer who was called between 12:00 and 12:30 was 20 minutes away but never got to the scene until the crane was gone. He took my statement but declined to talk to the supervisor who was still on site.
